Base jumping on the other hand, is a different matter; there is an assortment of things you could hit on your way down. Base jumping is the term given to jumping from a stationary object, like a building or a mounting; jumping from a base.

This famous monument in Rio de Janeiro was the base for Felix Baumgartner’s jump in 1999 which at the time gave him the record for the lowest BASE jump ever. Felix of course became even more famous when he broke the speed of sound during his free fall from the stratosphere.
Well I guess if you are going to jump off of a building, it may as well be the world’s tallest.
