“One Week” by Barenaked Ladies (1998)

The Barenaked Ladies’ upbeat tempos helped close out the 90s in the same way that MC Hammer began the decade.

“Closing Time” by Semisonic (1998)

Almost too cliché, Semisonic created this ballad to help close out a time of music that speaks to all of us who are 90s kids at heart.

Don’t even try to tell me you never heard this song at a graduation party or didn’t make a slideshow collage of all your favorite memories with this as the soundtrack…

“All Star” by Smashmouth (1999)

Smashmouth always said it how it was, and in this case they were telling each and every one of us that we are the true all-stars of the century—we knew how to rock overalls with converses and skateboard as fast as our golden retrievers could run.

“No Scrubs” by TLC (1999)

This one is a no brainer. TLC had a handful of hits, but No Scrubs was by far one of the best songs of the 90s.

“Livin La Vida Loca” by Ricky Martin (1999)

And finally, we had to of course have a Ricky Martin song in there. Ricky knew how to dance and encouraged us all to keep dancing alongside him.
